Impact Sourcing

The global profile of poverty has been predominantly rural, young, and undereducated. More than 40 percent of the global poor live in economies affected by fragility, conflict, and violence, and that number is expected to rise to 67 percent in the next decade. Half of the poor are children. Women represent majority of the poor in most regions and among some age groups. About 70 percent of the global poor aged 15 and over have no schooling or only some basic education. Impact sourcing reaches into those populations with opportunities for enduring, meaningful careers that foster hope. If someone has the will, we will teach them the skills.

Four of every five individualsliving below the international poverty line reside in ruralareas, representing around 48% of the population.

Globally people of working age with disabilities face 80% to 90% unemployment in developing countries and between 50% and 70% in industrialized countries.

Children and youth (ages 15–24) together account for two-thirds of the global poor, much higher than the cumulative population share of the 0–24 age.

The SALUTE initiative reaches multiple groups within the military community with military veterans and their families in mind.  Seventy-seven percent of military spouses want or need work, yet frequent relocation is often a barrier to finding and maintaining a rewarding career.

Mentoring & Education Programs

What happens in the classroom today is reflected in the boardroom tomorrow. We are actively showing students the potential career pathways that are possible in order to disrupt cycles of poverty. Our work will increase their knowledge through hands-on experiences and real-world insight, using “field trips,” job-shadowing, and career exploration to create opportunity societies in our communities.

GlowTouch is proud to partner with the Waggener High School Academies Program through the Jefferson County Public School System in Louisville, Kentucky.

Supplier Diversity

As an NMSDC-certified and WBENC-certified company, we have seen how supplier diversity can open doors.

There is no guarantee of winning business, but there is the chance to compete, to put your name and business out there, and to build the relationships that are vital to the success of like-minded companies that genuinely care about the communities in which they do business. And it benefits both parties. Your next great partner may a business that you would have never found had diversity not been a consideration.

We have also worked to pay it forward, so to speak, with a program that solicits bidsfrom women- and minority-owned enterprises. For instance, when moving into ournew Louisville headquarters, we actively sought and contracted with companies thatwere women- and minority-owned. These companies are qualified, they do good work, and this type of program creates opportunity by giving businesses the chance to compete while broadening the playing field.

This is a critical aspect of our unique nature as a company. Our motto of Putting People First is exemplified every day by action in the workplace that includes setting employees up for success, away from the office through volunteering opportunities and group activities, and in the community through a wide range of initiatives. We have purposely created an employer of choice by treating our staff as far more than people hired for certain jobs.
